Day 1 Athens
After everyone has arrived in Athens you will be transferred from the airport to the hotel. Here we’ll have a great dinner and we’ll enjoy a delicious traditional Greek cuisine. We’ll discuss the details of the tour in the company of a tasty wine in the old city of Acropolis.
Day 2: Athens – Elatou (285 km)
Today is the beginning of an amazing journey. We warm up our bikes on the region of Nafpaktia , a perfect playground for the first riding day. Along the “Nafpaktia Road” we head towards Athens to visit the world famous ancient sanctuary of Delfi . Before we reach the alp forest we’ll have a short stop at Arvanitsa to recharge our batteries. Elatou is the finising point of the day. Here we’ll have dinner and remain overnight.
Day 3: Elatou – Zagorohoria (310 km)
Today we’ll have the chance to discover the most famous port and villages on the road to the National Park of Vikos and the one of the highest mountain in Greece, Pindos. Here we will have a scenic ride and nature experience surrounded by different kind of lakes and rivers. we continue ridind till we reach Aristi, in the center (Gamila) Pindos located in the North Greece. Aristi is an stunning and traditional Epirus village. Here had been discovered findings from the Paleolithic. The “Stamatis Mansion” is an exceptional sample of the local architecture. The old Monastery of Panagia Spileotisas situated near the banks of the Voidomatis river it surely deserve a visit. We’ll also enjoy a charming ride on the route at “Kagelia” from the Voidomatis bridge towards Papigo.
Day 4: Zagorochoria – Zagorochoria (150 km)
Zagorochoria is a cluster of 48 traditional picturesque villages (Epirus), which are built amphitheatrically in the wider area of Timfi, Pindos and Mitiskeli. The local architecture is defined by stone, wood and slate rock. The natural environment it is favorable for different outdor activities. Today we’ll ride through the National Park of the Vikos , one of the most famous riding spots in Pindos with the most importants old bridges . We will cross the deapest gorge in Europe, VIKOS. We continue riding till we reach Kipi, a beautiful and traditional village built in the centre of Zagori which is famous for alternative tourism and mountain sports.
Day 5: Zagorochoria – Meteora (240 km)
Today we ride our bikes till Vovousa , a traditional village situated at 1,000 m altitude. This charming village was built in a lush location containing rare animals and plants. The stone arched bridge dates back to 1748. The national park of Pindos (Valia Kalda) is located near Vovousa . We continue riding till we reach Meteora, the biggest and most important group of monasteries in Greece after those in Mount Athos. This impressive monasteries are characterized by UNESCO as a unique phenomenon of cultural heritage. We’ll remain overnight in Meteora.
Day 6 : Meteora to Meteora (175 km)
Today we wake and early and begin the day with a visit at one of the most famous monastery, the Holy Monastery of St. Stephen. This is the most accessible monastery, The access require just crossing a small bridge not climbing steps as is at the others monasteries. The small single-nave church of St. Stephen was built in the middle of 16th and decorated in 1545. The Monastery includes two cathedrals; the old 16th century chapel and the 18th century main cathedral that is dedicated to Saint Charalambos and includes his holy relics. The old refectory of the convent is used as a museum nowadays. After we make a tour to waterfall of Palaiokaria , through the mountains it is time to return to Meteora, for our last night here.
Day 7 : Meteora to Karpenisi (210 km)
Today we leave behind the beautiful region of Meteora and we head towards Lake Plastira, one of the most attractive places of Greece, also known as Little Switzerland. This stunning artificial lake, located in the wider area of Agrafa is fed by Tavropos river and was named after a Greek politician, Nikolaos Plastira. We’ll recharge our batteries with a tasty snack of trout (traditional alive fish from river near the lake ), and start riding through Velouhi Pass. Near the mountains lies one of the most beautiful settlements of Evrytania, the Koryschades village. The village boats well-preserved old houses with beautiful streets stones and a very interesting Museum of National Resistance. We’ll spend the night in this beautiful town of Karpenisi.
Day 8 : Karpenisi – Athens (290 km)
Today is the last day of the tour. We leave behind the beautiful town of Karpenisi, and we ride on an amazing route through Levadia to Athens. Once we reach Athens we’ll end the journey with a farewell dinner down town of Acropolis .
