2019
Day 1: Johannesburg to Magoebaskloof (400 km)
Today is the first day of our journey. We’ll take our bikes and head to the land of Magoebaskloof in Limpopo Province where mountain meets river, home of the legendary rain queen. We’ll enjoy here a visit to the wildlife rehabilitation center and the Elephant Museum. Also we will experience the thrill of sliding through the amazing forest and have a pleasant tour at Wegraakbosh Organic Cheese Dairy. Here we’ll have the chance to see how is made the cheese in the traditional way. We will remain overnight in Magoebaskloof.
Day 2: Magoebaskloof to Hazyview (260 km)
Today we will ride untill Hazyview, a small farming town in Mpumalanga. We’ll continue our road to Sabie, the main hub in Mpumalanga for Adventures and Activities. It is also known as a motorcyclist’s paradise. We will enjoy a charming tour to the Sabie Valley Coffee plant to see the complete method of manufacturing coffee. We’ll stop for a short visit to Shangana Cultural Village where local crafts people work and trade their crafts at the busy African market. We’ll spend a great time riding through amazing ravine areas, indigenous bush and farmlands in and around the beautiful Sabie River Valley. We’ll enjoy a unique experience with Africa’s gentle giants Elephant back Safari or a flight with hot air balloon. After a long day full of adventures we’ll spend the night to recharge our batteries at the luxury stay at the Hippo Hollow Country Estate Hotel on the banks of the Sabie River.
Day 3: Hazyview / Kruger National Park (20 km)
Today is time to discover the amazing Kruger National Park - one of the largest game reserves in Africa. Located in the provinces of Limpopo and Mpumalanga, the park hosts more species of large mammals than any other African game reserve and also an impressive number of species: 336 trees, 49 fish, 34 amphibians, 114 reptiles, 507 birds and 147 mammals. You may see the human’s interaction with the Lowveld environment over many centuries – from bushman rock paintings to majestic archaeological sites like Masorini and Thulamela. We will enjoy an organized Kruger Safari adventure that will leave you with unforgettable memories. In the late afternoon we’ll back to Hazyview to have dinner and spend the night.
Day 4: Hazyview to Swaziland (300 km)
Today we leave behind the lovely town of Hazyview and head to the Kingdom of Swaziland. We will enjoy an amazing ride through mountain route via Piggs Peak and Mbabane and decent into the amazing Ezulwini Valley. This will be a cultural day filled with wonderful views. We will discover the Yebo Art Gallery and the Traditional Swazi Craft Markets. Explore the Swazi Cultural Village and the Mbabane Market. Overnight will be in Swaziland, at one of best value rated accommodations.
Day 5: Swaziland to St Lucia (300 km)
Today we will ride from Swaziland to the Greater St Lucia Wetland Park, now called iSimangaliso Wetland Park. We will enjoy a relaxing boat cruise on the lagoon, a perfect place to discover the range of wildlife here, including hippo and rich birdlife. St Lucia is located 300 kilometers from Swaziland in northern KwaZulu-Natal, and forms part of the iSimangaliso Wetland Park and its estuary that has of the highest concentrations of hippos and crocodiles in southern Africa. Be ready to enjoy an amazing experience on St. Lucia Aerial Tram. This open-air gondola transports guests up and away from the heat and bustle of the lowlands to an ecological park located in the heights of St. Lucia’s forest reserve. In the evening you will discover the Zulu culture. Will have a short stop at a shebeen (informal pub) to try some home-brewed Ilala Palm beer, a specialty of Zululand. We will spend the night in St Lucia.
Day 6: St. Lucia Leisure day
This day we’ll Visit the St Lucia Crocodile Centre at the entrance to iSimangaliso Wetland Park and see various African and exotic crocs, American alligators, tortoises, snakes. Here is also a cycad garden to discover. We’ll stop for a visit in at Chané Cheese Farm and Lodge to sample homemade organic cheeses. Here we will experience how life is in a traditional Zulu community of the Khula Village (just outside St Lucia) and if want we can ride to Cape Vidal (through iSimangaliso Wetland Park), a renowned fishing and snorkeling spot. If you prefer to relax, we will just enjoy the unique bush and beach experience in this sheltered bay. We’ll spend the night in a wonderful stay over before your morning departure back to Johannesburg.
Day 7: St Lucia to Johannesburg (600 km)
This is the last day of our journey. Once we arrived in Johannesburg, a transfer will be arranged to take you at the airport.
