Day 1 Arrival San Jose
After you arrive in San Jose airport you will be transferred at the hotel. Overnight at Studio Hotel.
Day 2 San Jose – Turrialba Valley 110 km
Today in the early morning you will head to Irazú Volcano – the highest active volcano in Costa Rica. Enjoy the winding road to the volcano through fertile lands at a altitude of 3432 meters over the sea level. After that you can visit the beautiful Orosi Valley and one of the few remaining colonial churches. Enjoy a tasty lunch in one of the local restaurants. Then you will ride to Turrialba a stunning valley dotted with coffee, banana and sugar cane plantations. You will spend the night at the elegant Casa Turire in Turrialba.
Day 3 Turrialba Valley – Arenal Volcano 229 km
Today you will discover the Caribbean lowlands on your way to the the Arenal Volcano area. You will pass through Sarapiqui, located at the banks of the Puerto Viejo River and next to Braulio Carrillo National Park. You will enjoy the natural surroundings, relaxing hot springs and admire the beautiful landscape. Overnight at Arenal Manoa Hotel.
Day 4 Arenal Volcano – Carillo Beach 217 km
After breakfast you will head to the North Pacific Coast to reach Nosara Beach. Nosara region, which includes Playa Ostional, San Juanillo, Playa Pelada, and Playa Guiones, is one of the most pristine beach spots of Costa Rica. This amazing place is a little slice of paradise in Guanacaste and it is also famous for surfing, fishing, and other fun water activities. A main attraction is the Ostional National Wildlife Refuge where you will see thousands of endangered Pacific Olive Ridley sea turtles show up every year for the “arribada” or turtle nesting. You’ll spend a relaxing night at Nambu Hotel.
Day 5 Carrilo Beach – Manuel Antonio 308 km
Today you will enjoy a great ride with scenic views of the coastline and surrounding forests on the way to Manuel Antonio. Also you will pass the charming beach towns of Puntarenas and Jaco, before getting to the port town of Quepos. Manuel Antonio is known as the most beautiful park in Costa Rica. Here you will be amazed by enchanting white-sand beaches ideal for swimming, and tropical rainforest forest alive with wildlife. Overnight at El Parador Hotel in Manuel Antonio.
Day 6 Manuel Antonio – Golfito 158 km
Today you will take the coastal road south to the Piedras Blancas National Park area (Golfito). During this ride you will enjoy great views of the coastline and surrounding forests. This area is known as a perfect jungle retreat for visitors seeking adventure off the beaten track. In this beautiful and remote southern zone of Costa Rica you can enjoy activities such as hiking, bird-watching, horseback riding, boat and kayak trips in nearby Golfo Dulce. Overnight at Esquinas Rainforest Lodge. All the meals included.
Day 7 Golfito – San Jose 310 km
After breakfast you will ride north the Panamerican Highway crossing the “hill of death” on the way back to San Jose. This afternoon you will return the bike at our office. You’ll spend the last night in Costa Rica at Studio Hotel.
